April 15-18, 2010:
West Liberty University’s Division of Music will present several concerts in celebration of Oglebay Institute’s 80th Anniversary this April. West Liberty students and Dr. Linda Cowan will present “Puttin’ on the Ritz: Songs of the 1920s” prior to the opening curtain of “The Matchmaker” at the Towngate Theater on Friday, April 16th. Dr. Cowan and WLU professor Dr. Angela Day will present “A Tribute to Boris Goldovsky” on Saturday April 17th at the Stifel Center along with a piano recital by WLU professor Dr. Gerald Lee. West Liberty will also present a concert of Jazz and Steel Drum music on April 18th at 4pm at the Capitol Theater in Wheeling. The concert will feature the West Liberty Jazz Ensemble, the West Liberty Steel Band, the John Marshall High School Steel Band, and the Wheeling Park High School Steel Band.
