Sara “Sally” Louise Bray, 85, of Wheeling, WV, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.
She was born March 20, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late John R. and Sara Edna Blosser Bray.
“Sally” was a 1948 graduate of the former Wheeling High School and a 1984 Summa Cum Laude graduate of West Liberty State College. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wheeling, WV, and was co-owner of Custom Water Systems.
“Sally” was a gardner and a seamstress, and was known for her poetry, and she taught creative writing at WVNCC.
In addition to her parents, “Sally” was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Jack Jarrell in 1983, and three brothers, Russell, Howard and Robert Bray.
She is survived by her life partner of 31 years, Edward Burkle. “Sally” is also survived by five children, Kathie (Michael) Stead Porter, John Jarrell, Christine (Ned) Holt, Sallie Nickolas, Sharon (Michael) McCarthy, and a step-daughter, Pamela (Robert) Stalter; one brother, William Bray; and a sister-in-law, Martha Bray. She also leaves behind 15 grand children and 18 great-grandchildren.
