The 2016 West Virginia MAD (Media Arts and Design) Festival
will take place on the Campus of West Liberty University on Friday, April 8, 2016. It will be a day filled with workshop sessions, professional presentations, and a student media arts awards competition and ceremony. We are working on presenters and sessions now. Check back on this website after February 1, 2016 for updates and registration. In the meantime, use the menu from the top of this page to take a look at all of the activities from MADFEST 2015.
Schedule for Friday, April 8, 2016
8:00 – 9:00 – Students arrive. Continental breakfast. Interactive displays in the Boyle Conference Room (Will be open throughout the day).
9:00 – 9:50 – Everyone gathers in College Hall (a large lecture hall). Guest jurors are introduced and each one provides a 20 minute multimedia presentation highlighting various aspects of their work and career in media arts.
10:00 – 12:00 – 2016 Media Arts and Design Award Ceremony. Jurors remain on stage and make brief comments about the work as the awards are presented.
12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch in Rogers Cafeteria
1:10 – 2:00 – Session One – (View session descriptions and register under the Registration tab).
2:10 – 3:00 – Session Two – (View session descriptions and register under the Registration tab).
3:00 – Students board buses and return home.
The MAD Festival Competition – Entry deadline is Friday, March 11th!
Open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. There is also a separate competition for all West Liberty University students. Entries will be judged by a panel of professionals in the media arts. See the MADFEST Competition FAQ for more details.
