MADfest 2015 will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015. Information about speakers and competition entries will be available on this website by January 15th. In the meantime, select from the drop-down menu at the top of the page to view the 2014 activities and competition entries. The competition categories will remain the same for 2015.

The 2015 West Virginia MAD (Media Arts and Design) Festival

will take place on the Campus of West Liberty University on Friday, April 10, from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM. It will be a day filled with 30 workshop sessions, professional presentations, and a student media arts awards competition and ceremony.

Schedule for Friday, April 10, 2015

Schedule:

8:00 – 9:00 – Students arrive. Continental breakfast. Table displays.
9:00 – 9:50 – Everyone gathers in College Hall (a large lecture hall). Guest jurors are introduced and each one provides a 15 minute multimedia presentation highlighting various aspects of their work and career in media arts.
10:00 – 12:00 – 2015 Media Arts and Design Award Ceremony. Jurors remain on stage and make brief comments about the work as the awards are presented.
12:00 – 1:00 – Lunch in Rogers Cafeteria

1:10 – 2:00 – Session One – (View session descriptions and register under the Registration tab).

2:10 – 3:00 – Session Two - (View session descriptions and register under the Registration tab).

3:00 – 4:00 – Boyle Conference Room – final wrap up forum (Q and A), with guest jurors and presenters.

The MAD Festival Competition

is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. There is also a separate competition for all West Liberty University students. Entries will be judged by a panel of professionals in the media arts. See the Competition FAQ for more details.
