WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Oct. 15,  2019 — Choosing a college is a big decision that begins with lots of advice and research. But nothing is more effective in narrowing the college search than personal tours.

From left, (front) Bethany Morrison, Breanna Sayre, Ally Joy, Adwit Lamichhane, (back) Matthew Valentine, Noah Underwood, Olivia Baumhoer, Lauryn Frindley, Kyle Caruso and Admissions Event Coordinator Michelle Filberto.

“Our student ambassadors give campus tours to prospective students and their families and assist with all admissions events such as Black & Gold Days, Open Houses, and group visits for high schools, middle and elementary schools. They do a wonderful job showcasing all that we have to offer because they love WLU and share their own experiences with prospective students,” said Admissions Event Coordinator Michelle Filberto.

Filberto has worked in Enrollment Services and Admissions for eight years.

From left, (front row) Kaitlyn Gilkey, Calesha Williamson, Faith Sandy, Kaylee Hilliard, (middle row) Michela Marchese, Erika Kekahuna, Peri Gray, Morgan Vickless, (top row) Justin Rice, Kendall Souder and Taelor Berryman.

“We have a safe, friendly and comfortable campus and our student ambassadors are experts at showing students around,” she said.

She plans all the on-campus admission events and schedules the campus tours throughout the year. She also supervises the 20 student ambassadors.

“I’m very lucky to work with such great students and appreciate all they do for WLU! I encourage any prospective students curious about our campus to call me and set up a personal tour soon,” she said.

Campus tours are given Monday through Friday, every hour from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Ambassadors also help set-up and take part in Black and Gold Days and Open House events, both designed for prospective students.
