WEST LIBERTY, Aug. 19, 2020 — Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is now receiving test results from the free COVID-19 Clinics held on campus from Aug. 14 – 17. Not all results are in yet and these may take several more days to be counted.
Of the results currently in, there are three positives at this point. These individuals are asymptomatic and are now being isolated and/or sent home. Contact tracing is being handled by the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department and follow up is planned.
Campus cleaning and sanitation is in place to disinfect areas where the positive testing individuals have been. According to health officials, the best prevention of COVID-19 spread is wearing face masks, social distancing and good hand washing and we encourage you to remain vigilant in these habits.
WLU will continue to update campus and the public as the results come in. For complete information on WLU’s response to the pandemic, please visit westliberty.edu/coronavirus.
