ALUMNI “WALL OF HONOR” The West Liberty University Alumni Board of Directors instituted a project in 1990 to demonstrate to current students, visitors, and friends that the college has some very successful graduates. This project, known as the “Alumni Wall of Honor,” is a dramatic way to honor some of the college’s most distinguished alumni and display pride in the accomplishments of its graduates. The concept was suggested by then Associate Professor of Physics Robert W. Schramm, who is a 1958 graduate of the college and a 2002 Alumni Wall of Honor inductee. The Alumni Wall of Honor is housed in the south end of the Union known as the Alumni Lounge.
Carol Spadafore Frum
Inducted 2020Carol Spadafore Frum was employed as a hygienist in numerous dental practices for sixteen years. She joined the West Liberty Dental Hygiene Department as an adjunct clinical laboratory assistant in 1975. In 1980, she was appointed full time course instructor and the clinical supervisor, a position she held for sixteen years. Carol received a master’s degree from West Virginia University in 1983. As an associate professor, she also served as the program director for six years. She was a Northeast Regional Examining Board evaluator for the clinical dental hygiene licensure process. Carol received the designation of Associate Professor Emeritus for her service to the college.
She is a past member and chairperson of the West Liberty Alumni Association Board of Directors. Carol continues to support the university and dental hygiene program through an annually awarded scholarship.
Her husband, James, is also a proud graduate of West Liberty and a member of the Hall of Fame. Carol and James have three children and three grandchildren.
