William “Bill” Ulrich – 1951

William B. “Bill” Ulrich, Jr, 88, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his home following an extended struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on March 28, 1929 in Wheeling, WV to the late William and Mildred (Kronjaeger) Ulrich, Sr.

Bill was a graduate of Triadelphia High School in Wheeling (’47) and West Liberty State College (’51) with a BA in Business. While in high school, he played piano with the original Dancemasters Dance Band. Bill served 4 years in the USAF during the Korean Conflict and was discharged as a S/Sgt. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in 1983 where is was Superintendent-Industrial Relations at the Benwood Plant. Following his retirement, he moved to the Tampa, FL area, returning to the Wheeling/Barnesville area in 1991 at which time he worked as an Industrial Engineering consultant for Seminole Tubular Products with plants in Cambridge, OH and Houston, TX.

Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville where he served as a Trustee, an Elder and sang in the Adult Choir. He was a member of the Barnesville Elks, NRA, American Legion and Severstall-Wheeling Management Association.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years whom he married on June 9, 1951, Mary K. “Kitty” Ulrich, on September 22, 2011.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Paul) Nesbitt of Barnesville and Kathy (Mike) Bolling of Lander, Wyoming; son, William C. (Jodi) Ulrich of Wheeling; four granddaughters; three grandsons; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and sister, Patti (Ophir) Vellenoweth of Wheeling.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2 PM with Rev. Same Monte officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
