Bill and Sue Patsche of St. Clairsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Monday, July 6.
They were united in marriage on July 6, 1965 in Winchester, Va., and had their marriage blessed July 23, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst with the late Rev. Patrick Mayer officiating.
Bill Patsche is the son of the late Bill and Rose Patsche. He is retired from the former Office of Law Enforcement Technology Commercialization and retired chief of the Martins Ferry Police Department. Patsche served in France for three years in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. He is a graduate of Bellaire High School.
Sue Patsche is the daughter of the late Ray and Sophie Veneskey and retired from the former Autumn Health Care of Adena as nurse manager. She previously was a home health and hospice nurse for Tender Loving Care in Warwood for 16 1/2 years and a float pool nurse at Ohio Valley Medical Center for 13 years following her graduation from West Virginia Northern Community College with an Associate in Nursing degree. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Liberty University and a master’s degree in health services administration from Ohio University.
She is a graduate of St. John’s Central High School, Bellaire.
They were co-chairs of the Formals at Oglebay board of directors and are board members of the 200 Club Big Band Dance Group. Their hobbies are ballroom dancing and walking at the mall.
They are the parents of Patty, at home, and Becky Kwiatkowski of Martins Ferry. Completing the family are two grandchildren.
The Patsches renewed their wedding vows at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4 during a Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Martins Ferry with the Rev. Tom Marut officiating.
They also received a papal blessing.
The couple and their family celebrated with a dinner hosted by their daughters and grandchildren.
