Elizabeth “Jean” Adams – 1953

Wilson S. “Poog” Adams Jr., 82, and his wife Elizabeth “Jean” Adams, 81, of Colerain, OH passed April 4, 2017 at home. Wilson was born June the 12th, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Wilson S. and Evelyn A. (Reese) Adams. Jean was born October 7, 1935 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Robert and Opal (Corn) Heslep. Wilson was a graduate and stand-out athlete at Bridgeport High School and West Liberty State College. He, along with his father, Wilson Sr. and son “Pooge” played in the O.V.A.C. all-star football game. He was a retired salesman for the asphalt industry. Jean was a graduate of Huntington High School where she was head majorette. She was a graduate of the West Liberty State College dental hygiene program. She was a retired dental hygienist and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain. Later in life she was an E.M.T. for Colerain Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to their parents, Wilson and Jean were preceded in death by their daughter, Julie Adams; and brother-in-law Bob Och. They are survived by their son; Wilson “Pooge” (Sheri) Adams III of Trafalgar, IN; grandchildren, Wilson Adams IV of Upton, KY, Jessica Adams of St. Clairsville, OH, Kaitlin Adams of Daufuskie Island S.C.; great-grandchildren; Owen and Kravin; and sister, Jean Och of Wheeling, WV. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 12 from 4pm-8pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH 43912. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 72581 US Rt. 250, Colerain, OH 43916. Private interment will be held at a later date at Belmont County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you purchase a Carbon Monoxide detector for yourself, or family and friends that do not have one.
