Reducing organic and inorganic waste are other areas in which we are committed to working with our campus partners to make a real difference. Sodexo campuses across the country offer reusable mugs and takeout containers, train employees on waste reduction, and offer trayless dining to reduce the amount of food, packaging, energy, and other resources that are wasted.
WFF Facility Services is committed to environmental stewardship and supporting the sustainability initiatives of each institution we serve. We deploy standardized cleaning systems on each campus, using highly efficient equipment and Green Seal certified cleaning supplies. Becoming CIMS-Green Building certified by ISSA is affirmation of our commitment. A few of the initiatives in which WFF supports include “Recyclemania” participation, composting efforts, utilizing low-moisture equipment and other energy reduction strategies throughout campuses nationwide.
Employing sustainable practices not only creates a healthier environment for students, faculty and staff, but it also sets a positive example for others. The benefits of employing environmentally responsible practices include reduced exposure to harsh chemicals, improved air quality, reduced cases of asthma and related respiratory ailments, water and power conservation, increased recycling and lower overall operating expenses.”
The WFF staff is committed to supporting West Liberty University in any and all sustainability efforts including the existing recycling program. In addition to our daily “ecofriendly” products and practices, our staff is prepared to increase, improve and support efforts on all levels of WLU’s sustainability program, including recycling.
It is with integration and teamwork that together we can act on a local level while thinking globally.
