- Campus Police are available on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These officers work closely with the campus community to ensure the safety of our students, employees, and guests. Our officers welcome the opportunity to get to know individuals on campus, so when you see them on campus, take a moment to get to know them.
- Office of Health & Safety Our Health & Safety Specialist works with Campus Police, Maintenance staff, cleaning services, WV Fire Marshal, and other entities to ensure the safety of our work force and our students. The Specialist facilitates trainings and completes inspections in a variety of areas to ensure that we continue to encourage safe practices on our campus.
- Important Contact List for on and off campus emergency resources, including local, state and federal law enforcement, fire response, and health facilities information.
- Annual Safety and Security Report provides crime statistics, fire safety logs, and other important information on our campus safety and security reports and features. This report is updated annually in September in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act.
- Title IX Compliance Our Title IX Coordinator works in conjunction with Title IX investigators, human resources and our student conduct administrators to investigate any complaints involving Title IX violations.
- Safety Committee is a team of staff members, with student representation, that meets each month to discuss safety issues, incidents that have occurred, and ideas for future safety precautions and trainings.
- Behavior Intervention Team is a team of support staff that meet several times each semester to review student cases of concern. Any member of the campus community is encouraged to make a referral through our website to the BIT if they observe an individual showing signs of concern.
- Critical Incident Response Team is a group of faculty, staff and administrators who meet monthly to train and prepare for response to a variety of crises on campus. The goal of the team is to have a prepared and guided response to any incident that may occur.

- Indigo Vision surveillance systems in all residence halls and many academic and administrative buildings
- BASIS Access Control System transitioning to CCure Access System for all residence halls and multiple classroom locations that provide tamper-proof lock systems as well as door alarms to prevent propping of locked doors.
