Scott Heath is from Wheeling, West Virginia, where he first explored his interest in broadcasting at Wheeling Park High School. In high school, he found a passion for radio. Scott often went on the air to give weather and event updates.
After getting an associate’s degree at West Virginia Northern Community College, Scott transferred to West Liberty University. At West Liberty, Scott has continued to work in radio. During his time at West Liberty, he has produced podcasts and interviews for the station. While working for the station, he has gained experience interviewing influential people such as Steve Moore from WTRF and Dr. Cecelia Konchar-Farr, the dean of West Liberty’s College of Liberal and Creative Arts.
When he’s not behind the microphone, Scott enjoys a wide range of hobbies. He is a gamer who plays on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and his gaming computer. His favorite game of all time is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for the Nintendo GameCube. Scott is also a big fan of NASCAR and hockey, rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Wheeling Nailers, and attending at least one NASCAR race each year to support his favorite driver, Brad Keselowski. Beyond gaming and sports, he spends some of his free time watching television. Recently, he’s been enjoying SpongeBob SquarePants and the newest season of South Park.
Scott is expected to graduate in Fall 2026. His goal before he graduates is to gain experience and confidence in as many areas as possible.
After graduation, Scott hopes to pursue a career as a news anchor at Channel 7 News. His dream job would be to host a daily radio talk show. He is most inspired by the John Boy and Billy Big Show. This semester, he is focusing on gaining resume-quality material for his portfolio.
