Academic Affairs Interview With Kate Billings

In this Interview, Mathieu learn about Kate Billings occupation at West Liberty which is Director of Student Activities and Title IX Coordinator for Housing and Student Life. He learn about her various different responsibilities as well as the impact her college experiences had on her career. As Director of Student Activities, she overseas campus programing, student organizations, and help run events that help strengthen community across campus. In her Title IX Coordinator role, she works to ensure students feel safe, supported, and informed about their rights, while also helping to create a respectful and inclusive  environment.  Her position requires balancing administrative duties with meaningful student interaction, something she finds awarding.

During this conversation, Kate also shared how her involvement in Greek life shaped her own college journey. She described it as a significant source of connection, leadership experience, and personal growth. Being part of a Greek organization gave her lifelong friendships and helped her build confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. She explained that these experiences not only improve

her time as a student but also influenced her decision to pursue a career in student affairs. Overall, Greek life played a major role in helping her discover her strengths and passion for supporting students.
