Mason Riter was born in Clarksburg, WV. He soon moved to Middlebourne, WV at the age of 6 and attended Boreman Elementary and later attended Tyler Consolidated High School. He graduated in the Class of 2020.
Mason likes to spend his time with playing video games with his high school friends. He got his first PlayStation 4 in middle school where he met his best friends for life. They played Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 every day after school. He also likes computer gaming. During the summer of 2020, he bought all the components to build his very own gaming computer. That is where he met many more friends from around the world by playing a zombie survival game called DayZ.
During his junior year of high school, he started taking the classes required to be a State Certified Completer in Broadcasting Technology. It all started with his first radio class, where he fell in love with the profession of broadcasting. Being able to express yourself in your voice rather than looks on a television screen.
After graduation from WLU, Mason wants to find a radio station where he can travel around and cover sports like football and basketball. If he cannot find a station accepting new personalities, he will look for a job where he films football and basketball games for TV or a livestreaming service.
College Radio is the next steppingstone into the world of radio. It allows the student to learn and understand the technology and regulations that radio stations must follow. Also gives the student a voice in their school and the surrounding community.
