JoLeigh Young

JoLeigh Young is a senior Broadcasting student at West Liberty University from Moundsville, West Virginia. She discovered her passion for broadcasting in high school, where she directed the John Marshall High School football games. The experience sparked her interest in leadership, live production, and telling stories in real time. After graduating from WLU, she plans to attend graduate school to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree and then pursue a career as a news or sports director. Whether she’s behind a microphone or behind the scenes, JoLeigh is driven by a commitment to authentic, human-led communication. Outside the studio, she enjoys painting, working out, and unwinding with her favorite television shows, Mad Men and Curb Your Enthusiasm

In an internet landscape increasingly dominated by AI-generated voices and recycled ideas, it has never been more important to hear from real people. Artificial intelligence can try to sound human, but it can’t replicate lived experience, or emotion. It doesn’t break rules, it follows them. To JoLeigh, being Passionately Vocal means pushing past algorithms to speak honestly about what matters, even when it’s uncomfortable.
