Ian Phillips is a Junior transfer from Washington and Jefferson College. He is an Ohio Valley native and recent graduate of Steubenville High School in 2019. Ian’s hometown contributed to his love of sports, music, and helping others due to the great success of local sports teams, the legendary entertainer Dean Martin, and the connections made through the local town people giving back to their community.
Ian found his love for sports at a young age and was rewarded by being a member of the State Championship Football team, OVAC and District Champion Soccer team, and a District Qualifier in Swimming. He continued this love when starting for Washington and Jefferson this past year as their Place Kicker for the Football team. His love for music comes from his father, Bill, who played anything from the old classics to brand new artists. Ian also dedicated his time to clubs that gave back to his community such as the Key Club and Rotary Club. He currently is giving back to his high school by helping coach the Football and Women’s Soccer teams.
After graduation from West Liberty University, Ian plans to go into the television world and follow his parents’ footsteps starting at WTOV9 in Steubenville. He believes college radio will allow him to develop his voice and practice skills for his future in Broadcasting.
