Jacob Phillis was born and raised in New Alexandria, Ohio. He attended Buckeye Local High School and graduated in the class of 2022. Upon graduating, he began his college journey at Eastern Gateway Community College in Steubenville, and then transferred to West Liberty in the winter season of 2024. Jacob is currently pursuing a degree in Broadcasting.
At a young age, Jacob originally wanted to be a video game developer, and when he found that designing was not his passion, he wanted to stick in the field of technology, and would end up being put behind the camera in high school, and eventually finding that to be a skill he was good at. With his experience, he chose Broadcasting to be a great choice for a major. Jacob is the son of Cynthia Phillis and Scott Phillis.
Despite loving technology, Jacob enjoys going on walks and being a part of the world. Specifically, he likes walking around the suburbs of his local towns. He also has an interest in older media; specifically with video games. His favorite time period to collect video games from is the fourth generation of consoles. One other hobby Jacob enjoys doing is listening to music. Specifically, he likes electronic music that sounds both realistic in instrumentation, but just off enough to tell that it is not from a real person.
Upon graduating, Jacob plans to work for local news stations in the Ohio Valley until new opportunities are presented before him.
