Minors

Professional Education Minors

Early Education
An additional endorsement in Early Childhood education can be added to the Elementary Education major.  This is not a stand-alone endorsement.

Middle School Endorsements 
Middle School Endorsements can be added to either the Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or Comprehensive Education majors.  The areas of emphasis for the endorsements are Art, Math, General Science, and Social Studies.  They are not stand-alone endorsements.

Special Education
An additional endorsement in Special Education can be added to either the Elementary Education major or a core secondary subject area (English, Math, Chemistry, Biology, General Science, or Social Studies).  Special Education is not a stand-alone endorsement.

Community Education
The Community Education minor is appropriate for students in any career fields who get in contact and are interested in teaching and working with children, youth, and adults (lifelong learners) in the community and 21st Century non-formal and informal learning environments. These fields could include business, (elementary/secondary) education, nursing, psychology, science, social work, speech pathology, etc. Students in comprehensive area programs (art, music, and physical education) would also be able to add the minor.

Health and Human Performance Minors

Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiology minor requires 27 credit hours.

Athletic Coaching
Athletic Coaching minor requires 12 credit hours.

Health and Fitness
Health an Fitness minor requires 25 credit hours.
