David Artman is the current Chief Operating Officer of Weirton Medical Center. In the first section of the interview, we have a discussion considering Mr. Artman’s journey to the position. We begin with his work in the Air Force and eventually come to his decision to pursue a master’s in business administration (Management and Operations). We also talk about how the Air Force was to be his lifelong goal but, as with most things, goals change and grow. During the second section of the interview, we discussed the skills needed to be an Administrator in medicine and the needed prerequisite positions needed. We also talk about the truth behind the position, that Mr. Artman is working 25/8 and no matter what is happening in his personal life, those at his work can and will contact him. David Artman ends with a passionate discussion as to whether he would recommend administrative positions like his to others.
