WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 6, 2020 — West Liberty University begins pre-registration for currently enrolled students today, April 6. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the procedure will take on a different look.

Register now for Fall 2020.

“Due to the current situation, individual meetings cannot take place with students and their advisors. We are asking our faculty to be proactive and reach out via email to all their advisees to make sure they are working towards completing their respective degree requirements,” said Scott Cook, vice president of Student Services and Registrar. “We also contacted students and asked them to reach out to their advisors before finalizing schedules.”

“We’ve removed barriers and are making it easier on our students during this troubling time. We are willing to work with students in any way to make fall registration a success,” he added. “We look forward to the time when students return to campus and are back in our classrooms.”

New students can visit the WLU admissions web page for new student registration options. This information also was mailed to accepted new students.

Additionally, WLU removed the 3.25 GPA for scholarships for fall (renewals only) and removed academic suspensions so that students aren’t penalized for academic difficulties they encounter during this time of alternate learning environments.

Summer registration also is continuing and the first term of summer classes begin May 11 and will be followed by a second term that begins on June 22. There also is a third term that begins June 29 for students enrolled in the Physician Assistant Studies master’s degree program.

Summer courses include many options and gives students a way to get a head start or catch up with courses needed to complete their degree.

New students registering for summer classes can do so online at westliberty.edu/summer or by calling the Admissions Office at 304.336.8076.
