WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., 4 p.m., March 24, 2020 — In order to keep campus informed about the rapidly changing COVID-19 crisis response, West Liberty University is issuing the following update:
- Gov. Jim Justice issued a “Stay at Home”order that goes into effect at 8 p.m. tonight.
- Online and alternative learning formats for in-seat classes will continue through the end of the spring semester. For more information, click here.
- All April events on both the Highlands Center and Main campus are cancelled.
- Elbin Library hours are reduced to 8 a.m. – noon, Monday – Friday, beginning March 25. The library is not open to the public, campus ID required.
- Barnes & Nobles Bookstore on campus is closed, please email bookstore@westliberty.edu or visit online.
- Beginning Thursday, March 26 Jazzman’s will close until further notice.
- Beginning Friday, March 27, the Marketplace will serve breakfast sandwiches and coffee from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Monday – Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be lunch and dinner only; same time frames. Take out only.
- As a result of the “Stay at Home” order, students cannot return to campus to gather belongings or move out until the order is terminated by subsequent executive order.
- When students are permitted to retrieve belongings, WLU will limit the number of students on campus throughout the process. The Office of Housing & Residence Life offers virtual office hours via Zoom from 10 – 11 a.m. and 2 – 3 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday or visit the Housing Office webpage.
