Study Abroad

Study abroad at West Liberty has grown steadily over the past several years.  At West Liberty Students can take part in faculty led programs, semester-long programs, and year-long programs.  Study abroad is particularly relevant to Political Science students as it exposes students to different political systems, ways of thinking, and cultures.

Recent Political Science Study Abroad Program, The Politics of Brexit, Summer 2019
During this program students spent two weeks traveling to Dublin, London, and Brussels.  The course focused on the causes and consequences of Brexit (the United Kingdom leaving the European Union).  Students visited places directly related to the politics of Brexit such as the European Parliament, European Commission,  The Oireachtas (parliament of Ireland), and Amnesty International’s Offices in London, as well as cultural sites such a St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin and the Tower of London.
