Doris Lakes Jones Scholarship

This two-year (award amount $1000.00 a year) scholarship is awarded to an Education major with an intent to teach in Brooke County, West Virginia. * This scholarship is awarded every other year.

In 1989, Dr. David Jones established this scholarship in memory of his mother Doris Lake, who taught in Brooke County, WV for many years.


Minimum Requirements for Consideration

  • Rising freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • Intent to live and work in Brooke County as a teacher upon graduation.
  • Education major (elementary, secondary, or comprehensive).
