West Liberty University offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education that prepares teacher candidates for content specific certification from grades 5-Adult in English, Math, General Science, Biology, and Social Studies.

Note: The Multicategorical Special Education may NOT be added to a major in Music, Art, Health, or Physical Education.

The Special Education minor (non certifiable) is appropriate for students in career fields who will work with diverse student populations. These fields could include psychology, social work, speech pathology, nursing, etc. Students in comprehensive area programs (Art, Music, and Physical Education) would also be able to add the minor.
