Intramurals
West Liberty University’s Intramural program is a long-standing campus favorite, offering both competitive and recreational opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. With a wide range of individual and team sports—from billiards and tennis to flag football, soccer, basketball, and more—there truly is something for everyone.
Intramural
Sports
Intramural sports at West Liberty University will utilize both online registration & physical forms for all teams and players (including free agents) for all sport leagues.
All participants will be required to have an active Toppercard to play.
Participation in intramural sports is limited to current students, faculty and staff (alumni, spouse and volunteers are not eligible). Participants can register as an individual or as a team.
You must present your valid Toppercard ID at every game to play.
We offer a free agent system to help players who do not have a team on which to participate.
At the conclusion of the registration period, all registered free agents are placed on a team together. While we can not guarantee that a team will be formed, we make every effort to offer all free agent registrations the opportunity to play.
Some sports have multiple leagues (i.e. men’s, women’s, coed). In coed leagues there is a predetermined ratio of male-to-female players who must remain on the court/field at all times during play.
When registering a team may request which league and/or division in which the team wants to participate, if applicable. League maximums are based on facility space.
Captain’s meetings can be done via e-mail or by meeting. The captains meeting e-mail consists of rules, intramural policies, field/court assignments, along with all other applicable information.

In extreme circumstances, a game may be called during play. This is up to the site supervisors. Captains may provide feedback, but the final decision will come from the supervisors. A game will be replayed if the first half is not completed. If called during play of the second half, the team who is ahead at the time will be declared the winner. If called during half-time, the second half will be played at a later date. Each score and penalty situations, ie. sportsmanship, will be carried over.
All teams and players must refrain from abusive language while on the field to officials and opposing team members. Abusive language may include but is not limited to swearing, continuous challenge to official’s call, and inappropriate gestures.
