WGLZ General Manager Walker Polivka at work.<\/p><\/div>\n

West Liberty University sophomore Walker Polivka was recently named as a recipient of the Abe Voron Award. Awarded through the Broadcast Education Association, Walker will receive a $3,000 scholarship for the 2018-19 school year. Polivka was one of only nine students from seven different campuses nationally to be awarded a scholarship after taking part in the association\u2019s 2018-2019 competition. The winners were selected by Peter Orlik and the BEA Scholarship Committee at its November meeting in Washington DC.<\/p>\n

Polivka is currently the general manager of WGLZ and has a weekly radio show on Thursdays at 4:00 PM. He plans to continue in the broadcasting field after commencement, working either behind the scene or on-air. WGLZ congratulates Walker on his scholarship and looks forward to what his future holds for him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
