Toppers Got Talent premieres in College Union

On Nov. 6 at 8 p.m., Toppers Got Talent made its debut on the hilltop. Toppers Got Talent is a four-week talent show, providing students at West Liberty a chance to showcase their skills.

West Liberty’s new talent show, Toppers Got Talent, aims to challenge West Lib Idol. The four-week talent show will start at 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6 and will continue on every Monday, Nov. 13, 20, and 27, in the College Union Ballroom.

Boden resigns, new SGA leadership looks forward

The new semester has brought with it leadership changes to West Liberty University’s Student Government Association (SGA). Reid Boden, who was elected for a second term as SGA president in the spring, resigned on Aug. 23. His sudden resignation surprised many students.

SGA: Feedback leads to positive changes

Over the past year, the Student Government Association (SGA) has taken great steps forward to improve West Liberty University events and services. SGA has further emphasized student feedback this semester, which has resulted in a lot of positive changes for West Liberty. As the academic year comes to an end, SGA can reflect on the changes made this year and start planning for next semester.

Campus highly anticipates 2017 New York City trip

Spring break has been over, but West Liberty University students have another adventure coming. This semester, the Student Government Association is sponsoring a red eye bus trip to New York City. Students will depart from WLU’s campus on April 21 and return on April 23.  

Boden, Croasmun to lead WLU’s Student Government

Student Government Association elections have officially ended as newly-elected and returning members begin their terms for the 2017-2018 academic year. David “Reid” Boden takes the helm as SGA President for a second consecutive year, this time welcoming Adam Croasmun as his vice president. 

Students should keep an open mind for Spring Fling

As we approach the end of the school year, there are still many things to do before this year is in the books from Greek Week and Spring Fling to papers, finals and so much more. For those who have not yet heard, Spring Fling is scheduled to be held in the Union this year. No matter how you may feel about this decision, it is important to keep an open mind and give it a fair chance before rushing to judgement.

Students should keep updated with SGA elections and events

Student Government Association (SGA) elections are happening today, April 5, and it is important for students to participate in the election. The Student Government elections are held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through electronic voting. E-mails are to be sent out with a link to vote for the candidates. The President and Vice-President-elects will be sworn in towards the conclusion of the Honors Convocation ceremony.

CAB planning; upcoming campus-wide events

Campus involvement in SGA rises with N.Y. trip underway

The West Liberty University Student Government Association (SGA) is taking a new approach at event planning. Now, even students who do not have a chance to attend senate meetings can voice their opinions. SGA connected with the student body via Twitter to plan two big events for the spring: Spring Fling and a bus trip to New York City.
