Shepherd, Fairmont on this week’s volleyball schedule

After a tough start, the West Liberty women’s volleyball team earned a split at this past weekend’s MEC/PSAC Crossover at the ASRC, managing to knock off two Atlantic Region teams on their way to MEC conference play this weekend.

Toppers look to bounce back against Fairmont State

Lady Toppers travel to Wesleyan and Glenville

The West Liberty softball team is gearing up for two doubleheaders against West Virginia Wesleyan University and Glenville State College this Friday and Saturday, respectively. Friday’s doubleheader against Wesleyan starts at 12 p.m., and Saturday’s doubleheader against Glenville also starts at 12 p.m.

WLU Baseball team looks to continue its hot start

Eric Burkle’s Hilltoppers have started their season 4-1 on the diamond with two big wins against the Concord Mountain Lions and a series victory against Chowan University, getting two wins in three games. The bats were as hot as 70-degree weather as they scored 43 runs with two double-digit scoring affairs in their first five games. 13 different pitchers toed the rubber to help seal those four victories with senior starters Yale Hughes and Sean Pare getting two of the wins.

Running Hilltoppers set for season’s final home games

The WLU men’s basketball team is back in action tonight in the ASRC against West Virginia Wesleyan College. After only their second loss at Concord and win at UVa-Wise on the road last week, the Hilltoppers have their sights on rebounding back this weekend while at home in two Mountain East Conference (MEC) match-ups.

Men’s and Women’s hoops set to take on Notre Dame College

The West Liberty men’s basketball team hosts Mountain East Conference rival Notre Dame College on Saturday in the ASRC. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
The Hilltoppers (2-0) come in to this game coming off two dominant wins in the MEC Tournament challenge against Cheyney University and West Chester University. On Wednesday, they played Davis and Elkins University in non-tournament play. Saturday’s game will be West Liberty’s first conference game of the year. 

Toppers travel to Glenville in final away game

Tomorrow, the WLU Hilltoppers (3-6, MEC 3-5) will be traveling to Glenville, W.Va. to take on the Glenville State College Pioneers (5-4, MEC 5-3) with a 7:10 p.m. kickoff. 
The number three has been both lucky and unlucky for the Toppers this season. The Toppers began their season with three straight losses. However, the season seemed to turn around as they won three straight games to become .500 on the season.
