McKenna Shives stands out on and off the court

A senior from Struthers, Ohio, McKenna Shives is no average basketball player. This is her second and final season here at West Liberty University. She transferred from Gannon University, where she played her first two collegiate seasons. In her junior year, she led the nation with 106 3-pointers and earned second team All-MEC honors

Research, performance competition accepting entries

If you ever wrote a research paper thinking the sole purpose of it was to get a passing grade, think again because now that research can win you money. West Liberty University recently announced a call for submissions for the RECAP (Research, Creative Activity, Performance) symposium and competition.

Student art sale to help fund scholarships

Today, on Thursday, Nov. 9, West Liberty art students will be selling screen-printed t-shirts, totes, and backpacks in the College Union. The event will take place from noon until 2 p.m. and all the money collected will benefit The Robert Villamagna Jr. Scholarship and Student Art Exchange Fund.

International competition reaches the hilltop

The 48-Hour Film Fest took place from Sept. 15 to Sept 17. Participants met on Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. to draw a genre, a prop, a character and a line of dialogue for their group.
