Senior art exhibit promises talent and diversity

The end of each semester at West Liberty University means that senior visual communication design and art education majors showcase their talents in a final exhibit in the Nutting Gallery, located in the Fine Arts building, to finish their respective degree programs. 

Nutting Gallery features work by Polish artists

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Nutting Gallery opened a new exhibit called “Fragmentation.” The exhibit features art by three Polish artists— Michalina Wawrzyczek- Klasik, Michal Klasik and Artur Masternak. 

Nutting Gallery showcases tree-themed faculty artwork

The annual faculty exhibition opened on Jan. 17 in the Nutting Gallery. Robert Villamagna, the gallery’s director, came up with the idea of having an annual art faculty exhibition. Every year, he picks the theme from all the art faculty members’ votes. This year’s theme is “Tree.” 

‘Memories of Memories’ opens in Nutting Gallery

On Sept. 27, West Liberty University’s Nutting Gallery opened its newest showcase of artwork from Pittsburgh artist, Nicole Renee Ryan. 
 
The show exhibition is called “Nicole Ryan: Memories of Memories.” Ryan is a contemporary watercolorist, oil painter and muralist from Mercer, Pa. She is currently working in Pittsburgh. This showcase included multiple watercolor and oil paintings; each piece ranging from $400 to $8,000. 

Nutting Gallery opening features interactive art

On Wednesday, Aug. 30, the Nutting Gallery opened up for the first time this semester. The theme for this gallery opening is interactive art, and Tom Estlack was the artist in the spotlight this time around. 

Senior show is a success in Nutting Gallery

Each semester, graduating seniors at West Liberty University participate in the show in order to complete their degree in Graphic Design or Art Education. This semester, five artists are featured in the exhibit: Jenny Ball, Jessica Bethel, Alyssa Culp, Emily Jessee and Courtney Moore. The highly anticipated and successful Senior Exhibition is on display now through May 11 in the Nutting Gallery in the Fine Arts Building.

WL art students are preparing to go from students to professionals

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va.— West Liberty senior art students are showcasing their best work at the Senior Exhibition on Wednesday, April 19th. The opening reception is to be held at the Nutting Art Gallery from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The show is free and the art work is to be displayed up until Thursday, May 11th.  

Nutting Gallery features unique paper-cutting artwork

The Nutting Gallery hit the ground running after Spring Break with a gallery opening that featured artist Kathryn Carr. On March 23, students and staff members filled the gallery to see over 25 different and unique works of art, all made of cut paper.

The Nutting Gallery in the College of Arts and Communication opened a new exhibition yesterday evening. Ed Bisese and Ryder Henry are the talented artists featured in the exhibit. Bisese is known for his paintings and sculptures. Meanwhile, Henry focuses on customizable building sculptures from cardboard and murals.

‘The Toy Show’ opens in Nutting Gallery

West Liberty University art faculty members presented some of their playful work at the Nutting Gallery’s annual faculty exhibition this evening.

“The Toy Show” features work from professors Sarah Davis, Brian Fencl, James Haizlett, Martyna Matusiak, Moon Jung Kang, Nancy Tirone and Robert Villamagna, the gallery’s director. The faculty voted on the year’s theme.
