Warm weather is amongst us, kind of, which means getting off the Hilltop to explore and have fun is a necessity. Luckily, the Mid-Ohio Valley provides us with numerous opportunities to do just that.
Just before West Liberty University’s spring break, the third Montani Semper Liberi – Music & Art at Oak Glen festival will be hitting the halls of Oak Glen High School in New Cumberland, W.Va. on March 10-12. With about an hour drive, you can explore one of the largest and most unique cultural offerings that this region has to offer.
This year, the festival has expanded to a three-day format so visitors can get the ultimate experience. From Friday, March 10 until Sunday, March 12, festival goers can attend sixteen separate performances including a few internationally renowned bands as well as local favorites in the Oak Glen Little Theatre. Tickets for performances can be purchased on the festival’s website.
Aside from the music, you can stop by the Commons Area and view the arts of many authors, artisans, and vendors. From photography to quilting, and herbal remedies to hand crafted crystal jewelry, you’re bound to find something that sparks an artistic fire in you, and possibly your wallet too.
The Hall and Warehouse Galleries is another can’t-miss stop at the festival. Free admission lets everyone tour the array of visual art the gallery has to offer. If you like free events, make sure to stop by The Porch and see their full lineup of local alternative entertainment.
The Montani Semper Liberi – Music & Art at Oak Glen III is a festival open to people of any age, background, and experience level. As a non-profit weekend event, the goal is to entertain, inspire, and enlighten. If interested in attending, more information about the festival can be found at its website linked above, or you can email your questions to [email protected]kglen.com.
