West Lib Idol’s second round took place tonight, Feb. 8, with a fun ’90s theme. The judges from last week, Alek Thibodeaux, Marcella Snyder, Travis Hinkle, and Morgan Wagner, were accompanied by a guest judge from the audience, Jay Billiter.

The eleven competitors went into the competition knowing only 8 performers will move onto next week’s competition.

Audience members also had the chance to win Domino’s by taking a picture with this week’s West Liberty Idol Snapchat filter and tweeting it at the West Liberty Idol Twitter account.

The performers and the songs they sang were as follows:

Josie Jarrett with “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden; Yale Hughes with “Bump and Grind” by R. Kelly; Hannah Hlad with “Colors of the Wind” from “Pocahontas;” Ellis Randall with “Nice and Slow” by Usher; Emilie Wesney with “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain; Sabrina Krouf with “Zombie” by The Cranberries; Abby Reeves with “Something to Talk About” by Bonnie Raitt; Sara Wright with “Amazed” by Lonestar; Brooke Dorsey with “Heads Carolina, Tails California” by Jo Dee Messina; Natto de Soares with “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton; and Cody Waggoner with “Wonderwall” by Oasis.

The judges picked 7 people to move onto the next round of WL Idol. Krouf, Reeves, Dorsey, dJesus, Hughes, Hlad, and Wesney will all be performing next week.

The audience also participated as judges as they got the opportunity to vote to keep one of the four remaining contestants to stay for the next round.
