West Lib Idol continues with a fun theme

West Lib Idol contestants turned up the heat in the third night of the competition tonight, Feb. 17, in the Student Union Ballroom at West Liberty University.

The six singers performed songs that fit into a beach and summertime theme, and some were dressed very appropriately with their flowery leis, short shorts, and Hawaiian luau attire.

Fraternities and sororities make a difference on and off the Hilltop

Parties are most likely the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Greek Life. Though you may think that is all they do, fraternities and sororities do not get the credit they deserve. At West Liberty University, every Greek Life organization completes philanthropy and community services throughout the year.

February is Black History Month, and in the spirit of this commemoration, it’s important for us to reflect on some of the most important people who created history for us to appreciate.

There were many historic events that changed the African American culture in the early days. The one major event was the Civil Rights Movement. This was a movement in the United States beginning in the 1960’s and led primarily by African Americans in an effort to establish the civil rights of individual black citizens.
