WLU Receives Surgical Masks donated by Chinese Friend
April 22, 2020WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 22, 2020 — West Liberty University received a gift of 500 surgical masks from business contact Joanna Dongmei Jiang, who is the president of C3 Summit International. Jiang is located in Shanghai, China and she sent the masks to help the university during the pandemic.

“I am pleased to receive these new surgical masks and grateful that Joanna mailed them to campus. It was very thoughtful, and I have now shared them with different departments, staff and students as we continue our educational efforts in this time of social distancing,” said Greiner.
A second donation of masks is expected to follow in the near future.
The masks took several weeks to arrive from China and are now in the hands of staff and students who will put them to good use. Essential workers, such as the maintenance, housing and security staff are already using them though most campus employees are working from home.
“As a Chinese friend, I am glad I can be of help to West Liberty University fighting the pandemic. I am impressed by the professionalism and leadership of West Liberty in our interactions. I wish them all a safe and healthy future as students resume class soon,” Jiang said.
Greiner and several faculty members from the College of Sciences met Jiang and other leaders at the Summit last year. WLU’s goal was to explore international outreach that could provide WLU with more students as it enhanced the health sciences in rural areas of China.
WLU signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Henan Yinji Investment Group (China) last April to open up new avenues of healthcare education.
Jiang leads the C3 Summit China, which promotes exchanges and cooperation between countries in the field of medicine and healthcare. C3 Summit International, headquartered in New York City in the United States, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the United States Department of Health and Human Services and other institutions has attracted the world's outstanding experts in the medical and healthcare industry, organizations and global leaders.
