WLU’s Hilltop Players Present Neil Simon’s Rumors

Share

West Liberty University’s Hilltop Players will perform Rumors, by Neil Simon, on April 22, 23, 29, 30 and May 1 and 2 in Kelly Theater.

In this classic farce, four couples go to the townhouse of a deputy New York City mayor and his wife to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary, but the party plans are put on hold because the host has shot himself in the head (he’s suffered a flesh wound), and his wife is missing. His lawyer’s cover up gets progressively more strained as the other guests arrive, but nobody remembers who said what about whom.

Members of the cast include senior Katie Shockey of Bellaire, playing Chris Gorman, senior Ryan Ferrebee of Cadiz, playing Ken Gorman, junior Megan Fahey of Wheeling, playing Claire Ganz, junior Nathan Bliss of Wheeling, playing Lenny Ganz, junior Derek Park of Wheeling, playing Ernie Cusack, freshman Chelsea LaRue of Wheeling, playing Cookie Cusack, sophomore Doug Gouldsberry of Moundsville, playing Glen Cooper, WLU alumna Melody Dawn Coen of Wheeling, playing Cassie Cooper, senior Robbie Hibbs of Wheeling, playing Officer Welch, and Jennifer Sailing of Salineville, Ohio, playing Officer Pudney.

Show times are April 22 and 23 at 8 p. m. and April 29, 30 and May 1 at 8 p. m. in Kelly Theater, located in the Hall of Fine Arts. A matinee performance closes the show on May 2 at 3 p. m. For ticket reservations or for more information, call 304-336-8277.
