WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Jan. 12, 2022 — West Liberty University’s Highlands Center was the site today for the St. Clairsville area Chamber of Commerce “Coffee and Connections.”

“I’m pleased to welcome the Chamber of Commerce and its members to our facility as they gather to meet and greet. We expect about 50 professionals to visit and welcome the chance to show them around the Highlands Center,” said WLU Highlands Center Director Phil Carl.

President Evans speaks to the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce during Coffee and Connections.

WLU President W. Franklin Evans will greet guests and offer a brief tour of the center. Afterwards all guests will have a chance to share information about their own businesses and enjoy refreshments.

Carl is focused on networking with the community and inviting local organizations to meet at the facility as he works to expand the university’s outreach and programs.

St. Clairsville Chamber Coffee & Connections typically meets at Belmont County locations but Executive Director Wendy Anderson wants to expand the outreach.

“I’m appreciative to Phil for his invitation. One of my goals is to break those walls between our two counties and to let everyone know that we can bridge the gap between Ohio County and Belmont County,” Anderson said. She has led the chamber now for about five years.

Coffee for the event is provided by Wheeling Coffee and Spice and pastries are by Bite Me Bakery, both of Wheeling.
