WLU-TV 14 Video Featured on CNBC’s Squawk Alley

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Oct. 27, 2014 — CNBC’s Squawk Alley featured a video produced by West Liberty University Television on their TechCrowd segment today. The CNBC segment profiled the SecureSelfies™ project on Kickstarter which can be seen at: https://cnbc.com/id/102124831.wltv-black-wltv14

SecureSelfies is the consumer products division of West Virginia-based start-up Confirmix™, a company that develops enterprise and consumer identity authentication products. SecureSelfies™ consumer products focus on prevention of unauthorized access of mobile phones and tablets, as well as the photos and other personal information stored on these devices. The company’s enterprise products will be marketed through its flagship brand – Confirmix – and will combat the identity theft and online fraud activities that cause over $100 billion in losses annually to businesses and consumer products.

Confirmix worked with the WLU Research Corporation to arrange the SecureSelfies video production by West Liberty University Television. The WLU-TV 14 team, including faculty, staff, and students coordinated all aspects of video and supplied key talent. Confirmix LLC is a startup company formed by a group led by WVU faculty member Thirimachos Bourlai, Ph.D., director of WVU’s Multispectral Imagery Laboratory and assistant professor at the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. The technology used in SecureSelfies was developed in his laboratories.
