The Tri-State Select Honor Band (TSSHB) will be held on the WLU main campus from Nov. 18-20, 2010. The TSSHB offers deserving student musicians from the Upper Ohio Valley the opportunity to grow in an intensive workshop type ensemble.
Acclaimed clinician and conductor, Mr. Eric Allen from the University of Minnesota, will conduct this year’s TSSHB. “Mr. Allen is an exceptional young musician and educator whom I have watched throughout his career, and who will soon be conducting honor ensembles all across the country. These students will never forget this experience,” said Dr. Matthew Inkster, WLU Director of Bands and Tri-State Host and Clinician.
In addition to the TSSHB event, on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m., the WLU Bands will present the annual “Prism” Concert. The WLU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Marching Band and other chamber ensembles will be featured in this fast-paced, exciting program.
