WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., October 26, 2023 – West Liberty University students met with Craig White, Moundsville CVB director and General Manager of Grand Vue Park, as part of their Geographies of the World Tourism class on October 19, 2023.

The students in the course offered at WLU by Dr. Robert Kruse, Professor of Geography, received the chance to go behind the scenes and learn from Mr. White’s professional expertise in tourism promotion and management in Marshall County, W.Va.

Located only 25 miles away from WLU’s campus, Grand Vue Park offers many different events and activities in order to serve and attract local communities as well as visitors from further away. Sharing their experience with students at nearby colleges has also been greatly beneficial.

Mr. White shared with students the ways in which the physical and cultural geographies of the area present opportunities and challenges for fostering tourism.

While the class taught at West Liberty University is set up to provide students with a holistic picture of World Tourism, the cooperation with local and regional businesses is particularly valuable and therefore highly recognized by students and faculty.

Dr. Kruse, expressed his appreciation, “Craig is knowledgeable and approachable, and our students really benefit from complementing their classwork with the experiences of local professionals. The Geography and Planning program is grateful to Mr. White for taking the time to meet with our students.”
