WLU Professor to Present Piano Recital

Share

West Liberty University Associate Professor Dr. Gerald Lee will present a piano recital Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elbin Auditorium of College Hall.

The program is a bicentennial tribute to the works of Frédéric Chopin (The Four Ballades) and Robert Schumann (Fantasy in C, Op. 17).

“Frédéric Chopin and Robert Schumann are regarded as outstanding master composers of the 19th century, creating richly emotional music in the great Romantic tradition.  These challenging pieces present striking extremes of dramatic contrasts, from the most tender and hushed music to fiery, cataclysmic music that often ends in tragedy,” Lee said.

The recital is free and open to the public.  For more information please contact the WLU Department of Music at (304) 336-8930.
