President Robin Capehart announced two new senior administrators at West Liberty University during a press conference today.

Dr. Anthony Koyzis (pro: KOYzis) has been named the new Provost and James Stultz, the new Vice President for Human Resources. They will replace the retiring Dr. John McCullough and Brian Warmuth respectively.

“Both Dr. Koyzis and Mr. Stultz bring strong and respected leadership in their respective fields to West Liberty University at a time when we are growing as an institution,” said Capehart. “They are uniquely qualified to lead us as we meet the challenges for the future.”

Koyzis comes to WLU from Longwood University (Va.) where he was the founding Dean of the school’s College of Graduate and Professional Studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of Iowa.

At Longwood, Koyzis oversaw the school’s graduate programs and led an innovative faculty research program. He also developed a relationship for the University with several universities in Greece through a project funded by the European Union. He has studied at the University of London and was selected for the National Academy of Academic Leadership in the University of Wisconsin system.

Stultz has been Vice President of Human Resources at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling for 40 years. Effective May 1, he will step down from the University’s Board of Governors where he has served since 2009.

Stultz is a graduate of West Virginia University and earned his M.B.A. from Ohio University. He has been an Adjunct Faculty member at WLU and has held leadership posts with the Upper Ohio Valley Chapter for Human Resource Management. A Vietnam War veteran, Stultz was a U.S. Army Captain. He is a former mayor of Moundsville and continues to serve on several community boards.
