Stefanie Trouten has been named the new Director of Marketing in the Office of Institutional Advancement at West Liberty University.  Trouten joined WLU in August 2010 as a Communications Officer before advancing to her current position.

Reporting directly to Jason Koegler, VP of Institutional Advancement, Trouten’s primary responsibilities include marketing, public relations, social media, media relations and various outreach needs to support events and development of the university.

“I am very excited for this advancement opportunity at West Liberty.  I plan on working with various departments to streamline our marketing efforts while continuing to develop new tactics that will position WLU at the forefront of higher education, ” said Trouten

Trouten’s history of marketing has prepared her well for this role. She spent five years at the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Marketing, where she coordinated all internal and external communications while building lasting relationships with members of the Ohio Valley community.

“Stefanie will bring fresh insight to our marketing needs at the university,” commented WLU President Robin Capehart.

Trouten earned a BA in Communication from Bethany College and a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from WVU in 2008. She is a former Board Member of the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley and was a founding member of OVConnect’s young professionals group. Born and raised in Wheeling, Stefanie now resides in Martins Ferry, OH with her husband Philip.
