WLU Extends its Sympathy to Wheeling Jesuit on the Tragic Loss of Senior Kevin Figaniak

West Liberty University’s entire campus community extends its sympathy to Wheeling Jesuit University President, the Rev. James Fleming, S.J., and the students, faculty and staff of WJU in response to the tragic loss of senior, Kevin Michael Figaniak, WJU class of 2014.

“We are saddened by this tragedy and offer our sincere condolences to all members of the WJU campus community.
Most especially, I would like to add my heartfelt sympathy to the Figaniak family on the loss of their son. We will keep WJU and the Figaniak family in our prayers and thoughts,” said President Robin C. Capehart.

Figaniak, a senior business major, was a member of the WJU varsity lacrosse team and the University’s club hockey team. He was the son of Valerie and Tom Figaniak of Perkasie, Pa. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

He was admitted to Wheeling Hospital early Saturday morning with severe head trauma and later transferred to UPMC Presbyterian where he died early Sunday morning.
