Wind Symphony’s Final Spring Concert

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 25, 2022 — The West Liberty University Wind Symphony will present its final spring concert at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 28 in College Hall.

Entitled Sounds of Joy, it will feature current Music Education students Kaitlyn Crow, Kaylin Templeton, and Hunter Ramsey as guest conductors.

Music literature composed by Andrew Boysen Jr., Anne McGinty, Jennifer Higdon, and Harold Bennett will be performed, under the direction of Dr. Gretchen Pohlman-Bassett, the director of bands.

“The West Liberty University Wind Symphony is the premier concert band ensemble within the WLU Division of Music. Just like its sister ensemble – the University Concert Band, the Wind Symphony is an internationally recorded ensemble. The Wind Symphony is comprised of music majors, non-music majors, WLU instrumental faculty, and community members,” said Pohlman-Bassett.

The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted for those who would wish to make a fiscal contribution to the program.

The concert will be accessible via livestream on the WLU Marching Hilltoppers Facebook page for anyone unable to attend in person. Masks are no longer required in WLU buildings.
