West Virginia Education Secretary Kay Goodwin visits WLU for Cyrus Vance Awards

West Virginia Education Secretary Kay Goodwin will offer the keynote address at this year’s Cyrus Vance Awards ceremony at West Liberty University on Thursday, March 18 at 11:30 a.m. in the College Union, Alumni Wall of Honor Room.

The Cyrus Vance Awards were created by the Office of the Secretary of Education and the Arts in 2001 to honor West Virginia educators who best exemplify Vance’s dedication to the understanding of international issues and affairs and to promote greater international understanding among West Virginia students.

Principle coordinators of the award-winning project, “The French Connection: An International Conversation,” include Dr. Keely Camden, Dean of the College of Education, Mia Szabo, WLU International Student Coordinator, Dr. Sharon Halicki, WLU Professor of French, Dr. Ann Gaudino, Interim Chair of the Department of Professional Education and Erin Brettchnider, John Marshall High School French Teacher.
