Future Albert Einsteins, this is your chance. A pair of winners of the West Liberty University Science and Engineering Fair March 18 and 19 will go to the International Science Fair Competition in Los Angeles later this spring. Many winners in a variety of categories can descend the Hilltop with cash awards.

WLU will host the fair for students in a junior division, grades six through eight, and a senior division grades nine through 12, at the Arnett Hall for Science on the university campus at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18. An awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m.

“Ohio Valley students on both sides of the river can win cash awards in more than two dozen categories,” said Fair Director Dr. Melinda Kreisberg. “Projects can be from the student’s classroom or one devised on the student’s own.”

A special cash award has been donated by retired WLU physics professor Robert W. Schramm to encourage student interest in scientific fields. “This program can reward young people for their intellectual achievement,” he said.
