WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University will host its Fall 2026 Nonprofit Opportunity Fair on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Elbin Library.
This event gives West Liberty University students the opportunity to connect with local nonprofit organizations and explore employment, internship, service, class project, and other community engagement opportunities.
The fair features nonprofit organizations that seek both short-term and long-term student participation and includes a variety of fields such as accounting, social work, social media, marketing, computer information systems, communication, and more.
“West Liberty appreciates the opportunity for our students to work with local nonprofits to improve the community,” said Dr. Tim Borchers, President. “These experiences benefit not only our students, but our community members as well.”
In addition to connecting with nonprofit organizations, individuals who attend will have the opportunity to participate in pop-in workshops that focus on professional development. These include creating and enhancing a LinkedIn profile, writing a resume and cover letter, developing networking strategies, creating a personal brand and using social media, finding internships, and more.
The Fall 2026 Nonprofit Opportunity Fair will feature organizations including American Red Cross of the Ohio River Valley, Augusta Levy Behavioral Services, Catholic Charities, CASA for Children WV, the Children’s Home of Wheeling, Crittenton Services, Easterseals Rehabilitation Center, Russel Nesbitt Services LLC, T.R.A.C. – Ohio Valley, West Liberty Lions Club Family Support Center, Wheeling Health Right, Wheeling Park Commission, and Youth Services System, among others.
Students are encouraged to stop by the Elbin Library between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to explore the opportunities available to them.
