WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., June 28, 2017 — Saying goodbye is always bittersweet but for retirees it carries with it the reward of a job well done.
“We are grateful to our longtime employees who have served the university and the state of West Virginia well and we wish them all the best in retirement,” said President Stephen Greiner at an all-campus reception held in their honor in the R. Emmett Boyle Conference Center recently.
Retirees for 2017 include:
- Roger Bertelli, Wheeling, trade specialist, was employed at WLU for 32 years and retired from the Physical Plant.
- Dave Thomas, Wheeling, professor of English, was employed at WLU for 31 years and retired from the College of Liberal Arts.
- Janet Kimble, Washington, Pa., administrative secretary, was employed at WLU for 26 years and retired from the Physical Plant.
- Annette Godown, Wheeling, instructor of Hospitality and Tourism Management, was employed at WLU for eight years and retired from the Gary E. West College of Business.
- Amerigo Pate, Weirton, trade specialist, was employed at WLU for nine years and retired from the Physical Plant.
- LuAnn Johnson, Moundsville, staff librarian, was employed at WLU for 25 years and retired from the Elbin Library.
As of June 13, 2017, West Liberty University had 269 employees, which includes faculty and staff, both full and part time.
