West Liberty University Hosts SCI FI NASA Day to Inspire Future STEM Students

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University’s College of Sciences hosted its annual SCI FI NASA Day on Thursday, April 16, welcoming high school students from across the region for a day of hands-on learning and exploration in STEM fields.

SCI FI, which stands for Science Classes I Find Interesting, is designed to increase interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by introducing students to the wide range of programs offered within the College of Sciences. Participants attended two science classes of their choosing and concluded the event with a complimentary lunch in the Bear’s Den.

The event was supported by a grant from the WV-NASA Space Grant Consortium.

A total of 126 students participated, representing two public high schools, three private high schools, and eight homeschool students. Thirteen sessions were led by West Liberty University faculty and graduate students, offering engaging, hands-on experiences across multiple disciplines.
