WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University’s 10th Annual Topper Day of Giving, held March 25, 2026, marked the most successful giving day in the university’s history, generating more than $335,000 in support of students, programs, and campus initiatives.
The milestone event surpassed its $300,000 goal and brought together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the university in a collective effort to invest in West Liberty’s future.
“This milestone demonstrates the strength of Hilltopper pride and the impact of collective generosity,” said Betsy Delk, Executive Director of the West Liberty University Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to another record-setting year.”
Funds raised during the Day of Giving support a wide range of priorities across campus, including academic programs, athletics, scholarships, and student-centered initiatives.
A key component of the event’s success was the participation in micro-campaigns, where departments and teams competed to raise funds and engage donors.
Top programs by funds raised included:
- Biology — $24,633
- Theatre — $23,883
- Wrestling — $16,074
Programs that attracted the most donors included:
- Wrestling — 265 donors
- Theatre — 119 donors
- Biology — 59 donors
These programs will receive additional support from the WLU Foundation in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
West Liberty University extends special appreciation to the sponsors whose support helped make this year’s event a success. The Health Plan served as the 2026 Title Sponsor, continuing its strong commitment to WLU and the Ohio Valley community.

Topper Day of Giving was also strengthened by matching donors who helped inspire participation and maximize impact across micro-campaigns.
